The choice of where to emigrate was not easy, they were looking for options all over the world. South-East Asia did not suit them, because a foreigner cannot buy real estate there. In Africa the political environment is unstable and crime rates are high. So they picked Latin America and Belize, a country with simplified immigration regime, cheap real estate, low taxes and stable political situation. And the most important thing is that it is warm there all year round, the Caribbean sea is nearby and the nature is untouched by humans.
"Several years ago we realised that the perfect food for us were fruits, and in Almaty we have tasty fruits only several months a year, unfortunately. We did not fancy eating tasteless Chinese apples. It was another serious reason for us to move to a tropical country".
Pineapples and other fruits play significant role in this family's life. Andrey, Tanya and Aneta are , which means that they do not eat heat-treated food.ВP
"No, we love Almaty, it is an excellent city, the best in CIS. Amazingly beautiful mountains, very friendly people... If pineapples were growing here, and there were a couple of picturesque tropical islands nearby, we probably would have stayed".
"In Almaty we had promising jobs, our own flat in a wonderful quiet neighbourhood not far from the circus. We used to go hiking, traveled around - we drove through half of Kazakhstan", says Tatyana. "And then suddenly we realised that we did not want to sit in the office all days long, to stand in traffic jams for hours and spend weekends going shopping or going to cinemas and other places of so-called 'cultural leisure'. We wanted to be closer to nature, to ourselves and to each other."

However, it is only the first glance. A year ago Andrey and Tanya gave up their established life in Almaty and moved to a not so widely known country called Belize in Central America for permanent residency. At the moment they live in real jungle, on the coast of the Caribbean sea.
Once upon a time a family from Almaty decided to give up everything and move to a tropical country, 8 thousand miles away from home. What is it like, to change concrete jungle for a real one and to try and live without money, full-time job and usual conveniences?
